Discover ‘Basement Walls’: New Art Exhibit at Black Walls Gallery

The very first 21 and over art gallery Boston has to offer, the Black Walls Gallery inside the New Dia Mall is focused on showcasing works of art from some of the most talented creatives. For January and February, we’ll be hosting a new exhibit, Basement Walls, featuring three skilled artists from the area. Our art gallery near Fenway is open daily from 8pm to 11pm, and the artwork will be on display through February 27th. Get to know our featured artists below!

Brian Huntress

Brian Huntress, a Boston native, stands out in the art world with his unique fusion of punk rock and mixed media. His creations, infused with the raw energy of early punk music and energy, offer viewers a dynamic, visceral experience. As both a songwriter and artist, Huntress produces full-studio tracks that accompany his darkly whimsical visual art in engaging time-lapse videos. These works not only entertain but also educate, giving insights into his artistic process while inspiring others to explore their creativity. His art and music captivate millions, showcasing the power of combining sound with visual storytelling.

Theodora Earthwurms

Theodora Earthwurms is a Boston-based multimedia artist known for her introspective and process-focused approach to art. Her work often portrays themes of gender, sexuality, mental health, and personal trauma, creating a narrative that resonates with many. Earthwurms uses a variety of mediums, from ink drawings to mixed media, often exploring the intersection of emotional expression and subconscious thought. As co-host of “The Boston Art Podcast,” she extends her artistic voice to discuss community and creativity in Boston’s art scene.

Duane Lucia

Duane Lucia is a seasoned martial artist who transitioned his deep understanding of kinesiology and sports psychology into the realm of art. After founding Sanchin Martial Arts in 1979, Lucia’s artistic journey began as a natural extension of his disciplined practice. Known for his dedication to both martial arts and art, he now serves as a museum director and curator. His artwork reflects the precision and balance of his martial arts background, creating a unique blend of discipline and creativity.

Therefore, we offer the only art gallery near Fenway where you can shop for cannabis at New Dia, and then explore the talented local artists while you are here.
